"Maria Menounos earns her place as a top journalist"
by Michael Aaron Gallagher

If you thought Maria Menounos was merely another beautiful entertainment news correspondent in Hollywood, you haven't been paying attention lately. Sure she is a spokesmodel for Pantene hair care products, she has appeared in movies, popular television shows, and in the pages of several major magazines. But this former Miss Massachusetts Teen USA and "Access Hollywood" correspondent is more than just a pretty face.

Her recent reports during the 2008 Presidential election have propelled her work into the spotlight, even appearing on the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. In fact, her exclusive one-on-one interview with the Obama family, not only attracted national attention for being the first interview with the family, but it also demonstrated her ability to comfortably deliver a world-class story that was both entertaining and original.

As the host of "Hollywood Green" on the Planet Green television network, Menounos continues to deliver celebrity interviews and socially relevant reports that set her apart from many of her colleagues in the entertainment news business. From interviewing former Vice President Al Gore about environmental issues to her entertaining and personable conversations with celebrities, Maria Menounos is proving she is a top journalist with the credibility, outstanding talent, and drive to compete with the very best in the industry.

What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.
